A Brooklyn appellate panel disbarred two attorneys after they both resigned in the face of disciplinary proceedings they conceded they could not successfully defend. In separate Wednesday rulings, the Appellate Division, Second Department, disbarred Thomas Bello of Staten Island and Jasleen Anand of Garden City.

In 2011, the grievance committee filed six professional misconduct charges against Bello, which included the neglect of legal matters, failure to maintain adequate communications with clients and the failure to satisfy the terms of a $25,000 settlement agreement in a legal malpractice action. They were sustained by a special referee.
