In a case where a Long Island teenager was injured wrestling in gym class by a boy with whom he had already had problems, a judge is letting the teen’s personal injury suit proceed due to factual questions about the school district’s liability.

During a December 2011 physical education class at Lawrence Road Middle School in Hempstead, Alonzo Carter, then a sixth grader, picked fellow student Kevon Hennit as his wrestling partner. During the match, Hennit picked up Carter and slammed him on the ground, fracturing a bone in Carter’s left arm.
