In the wake of an Orange County judge’s recusal from a murder-for-hire case after discovering the defendant, a Brooklyn rabbi, attempted to get someone to kill him, the district attorney said Thursday that he is also an alleged target of the defendant.

But Orange County District Attorney Frank Phillips II said he does not view either threat credible and does not expect to file additional charges against Victor Koltun, who is charged with murder and conspiracy for allegedly commissioning the murder of a former police officer and the officer’s nephew.
