A Brooklyn Bar Association-sponsored debate between candidates for district attorney was canceled Monday, the day before the scheduled event. According to a press release from the bar association, the campaign of Kenneth Thompson of Thompson Wigdor called the organization's president, Andrew Fallek, on Monday and said he could not attend.
A later email from Thompson's campaign said the candidate had "a scheduling conflict," but he offered to appear at another time. However, with Thompson and incumbent Charles Hynes having "extremely tight schedules" before the Sept. 10 Democratic primary, the bar release said that would not be possible.
