With a strong reminder that judges should never preside over a matter involving a relative, the Commission on Judicial Conduct has admonished a nonattorney town justice who handled a speeding case involving his wife's nephew. The panel said that even assuming Pittstown Justice Kenneth Marbot dealt with the relative the same as he would have dealt with a stranger, the appearance of bias is inevitable and inexcusable.
