The three-way race for Brooklyn District Attorney narrowed to a two-candidate slugfest Thursday after Abraham George dropped out and endorsed Kenneth Thompson's bid to unseat incumbent Charles Hynes.

"I did a lot of soul searching," George, a former Manhattan prosecutor, said in an interview Friday. "I thought about why I left the DA's office. … The mission was to get Joe Hynes out of office. The only thing happening in a three-way race is to ensure Hynes a victory."
