As horse racing enthusiasts headed to Saratoga Friday for the 100th running of the annual summer meet, and flocked to local restaurants and bars, a dispute over whether a horse named Whiskey, which allegedly injured someone who tried to corral the horse as he fled from a tavern, is known to have a nasty dispostion.

Carey v. Schwab, 516921, stems from an incident in 2008 when Burton Schwab and two women rode the horses Whiskey, Sally and Cowboy to a Saratoga County tavern. While the defendant and his friends were inside, Whiskey and Cowboy got loose from their restraints and took off down the road, with one of the women pursuing on foot. The plaintiff, Robert Carey, joined the chase in his car.
