An industrial mechanic accused of designing an X-ray emitting device to silently kill opponents of Israel is facing federal charges of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. Glendon Scott Crawford, 49, of Galway, Saratoga County and Eric Feight, 54, of Hudson, Columbia County, appeared Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christian Hummel (See Profile) on charges that could result in a 15-year prison sentence. Both were detained without bail.
According to a complaint unsealed Wednesday, Crawford, an industrial mechanic at a General Electric plant in Schenectady and member of the Ku Klux Klan, attempted to get Jewish organizations and the Klan to bankroll his plan to produce a remotely controlled X-ray mechanism that would produce fatal doses of radiation, with the aim of using it to poison enemies of Israel while they slept. Feight, who according to the complaint has mechanical and engineering skills and has worked as an outside contractor for GE, is accused of conspiring with Crawford.
