ALBANY – The fate of a proposed amendment to the state Constitution to raise the retirement age of certain categories of judges was placed in the hands of the state Senate on Tuesday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved an amendment (A4395/S886) that would raise the retirement age of Supreme Court justices, Appellate Division justices and Court of Appeals judges to 80 from 70.
