The Long Island Rail Road must face a lawsuit by a man who worked as a cashier at a diner on its property in the 1970s and alleges he got mesothelioma from being exposed to asbestos that railroad workers brought into the eatery on their clothes, a state judge has ruled.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Sherry Klein Heitler (See Profile) denied the LIRR’s motion for summary judgment in Frieder v. Long Island Railroad, 190212/12, on May 17.
