‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
With these words, our founding fathers set forth the standard against what some would say inspired the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his "I Have a Dream" speech. Ultimately the election of America’s first African-American president became a reality. Permit me a moment of privilege to express how in some measures that dream has become a personal reality for me as well.
