A computer programmer accused of strangling his wife, who was a part-time staff attorney for the Bronx Legal Aid Society, has been indicted in Westchester County. District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Christopher Howson was arraigned yesterday on murder and strangulation charges.

The wife, Theresa Gorski, was taken off life support on Jan. 9. The prosecutor alleges that, four days earlier, Howson called 911 saying he had just strangled her in their Sleepy Hollow home. Authorities say the couple’s daughters, ages 5 and 8, were home at the time. Howson’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
