The New York State Attorney General’s Office has standing to proceed with an action alleging mismanagement and self-dealing by the longtime president of the National Arts Club, a judge has ruled.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Carol Edmead (See Profile) held that the attorney general’s office adequately pleaded its claims that the former president, O. Aldon James Jr., mismanaged the prestigious arts organization, ruling the office’s "allegations are sufficient to support claims of breach of fiduciary duty and waste, and for injunctive relief for which the Attorney General has standing and authority to assert."
