A Brooklyn woman who defaulted on a financing agreement for a $3,500 couch and loveseat that broke in about two years need not pay more for the use of the furniture than the $363 she already paid, a judge has ruled.
Civil Court Judge Noach Dear (See Profile) said that the case was consistent with "a very unfortunate trend" that leaves courts in a "quandary."
