A Brooklyn prosecutor accused of punching and choking an emergency medical technician as she tried to bring him to a hospital has pleaded guilty to lesser charges. Assistant District Attorney Michael Jaccarino was sentenced yesterday to 10 days of community service. He’ll also undergo six months of alcohol treatment. He pleaded guilty to reckless assault, a misdemeanor.
EMTs approached Jaccarino, 30, after he wandered into traffic lanes on the Brooklyn Bridge in November. Prosecutors say once Jaccarino was in an ambulance, he unstrapped himself from a stretcher. A court complaint said he hit a technician in the face and squeezed her neck with his hands. She was treated for bruises.
