A judge in Brooklyn has refused to dismiss a lawsuit accusing a Coney Island physician and two other defendants of orchestrating an identity theft scam.
In Kristalinsky v. Starosta, 7152/2012, an elderly man contends he was duped by his doctor into taking out a life insurance policy naming as the beneficiary a woman fraudulently identified as his daughter. Acting Supreme Court Justice Ann Pfau (See Profile), in a Jan. 28 order, rejected a motion to dismiss by the alleged imposter.
