ESTATE OF ALFRED GEORGE KAMEKA, ALSO KNOWN AS ALFRED G. KAMEKA, ALSO KNOWN AS ALFRED KAMEKA, Deceased — In this proceeding by the co-administrators, the decedent’s spouse who lives in Canada and a New York domiciliary, seeking to pay attorney’s fees and distribute estate funds arising from the sale of the decedent’s one-third interest in realty located in the Bronx being held in an attorney’s escrow account pursuant to court order, pro se objections were filed by four of the decedent’s seven children. The objections allege, inter alia, that: (1) the decedent was allegedly domiciled in Jamaica at the time of his death and distribution should occur pursuant to the laws of that jurisdiction, whatever that law might be; (2) the proceeds should be divided pursuant to a document signed by the decedent, dated December 8, 2006, which contains a provision directing the disposition of the decedent’s interest in the realty, with 50 percent going to the objectants; and, (3) they object to the amount of the attorney’s fees and complain that they were not advised of the retainer agreement, even though they have a financial interest in the estate.

The matter will appear upon the ready for trial calendar of the court upon compliance with Uniform Rules for Surrogate’s Court (22 NYCRR) §§207.29 and 207.30.
