The SEC sued iShopNoMarkup.com, Knight, and their codefendants for securities fraud and violating registration requirements. No defendant, including Knight, objected to a magistrate judge’s Feb. 23, 2006, scheduling order closing discovery on April 28, and requiring all dispositive motions by May 12, 2006. Between June 26, 2007, and Dec. 9, 2010, pro se defendant Knight was repeatedly denied leave to file motions for summary judgment, as well as reconsideration of such denial. On March 3, 2012, the court denied Knight’s fourth, Jan. 1, 2011, request to reconsider the Dec. 9, 2010, order and seeking leave to make a dispositive motion. It noted the deadline for dispositive motions expired on May 12, 2006. The court denied Knight’s March 12, 2012, motion to reconsider its March 3, 2012, order. Intending to halt Knight’s repeated requests for leave to make a dispositive motion, the court reiterated that Knight failed to identify items of discovery produced during an additional period of discovery permitted in May 2009. Nor did Knight explain why such information was unknown to him before the May 12, 2006, dispositive motion deadline. The court warned Knight that further motion practice on the issue risked imposition of sanctions.
