Students at the University at Buffalo Law School can now take part in a practicum focused on housing law, thanks to a $24,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.

The two-semester Healthy Homes Legal Practicum kicked off this fall, with eight students now working for improvements for city residents who live in unhealthy housing. They will be drafting proposed housing ordinances, working on Housing Court cases, and advocating for citizens at risk from home-based heath hazards such as lead, asbestos and mold.
