In their Law and Children column, Andrew Schepard, Lauris Wren and Theo Liebmann, professors at Hofstra University School of Law, write that as the number of authorized and unauthorized immigrants in the United States continues to rise, immigration issues increasingly permeate family court proceedings. A discussion of best practices and larger policy questions is needed to begin a vitally important dialogue between the immigration legal community and family law legal community.
