Labor and employment law firm Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart has opened a New York office with eight attorneys, including two partners and five associates from Seyfarth Shaw. Edward Cerasia II, a former Seyfarth partner who focuses on employment litigation, will serve as managing shareholder of the office. Anjanette Cabrera, also an employment litigator and a former senior associate at Seyfarth, will be a shareholder at Ogletree. The five associates joining them from Seyfarth are Hema Chatlani, Allison Ianni, Aaron Warshaw, Caitlin Senff and Maayan Deker.
Employment litigator Cheryl Stanton, a current shareholder at Ogletree, and Patrick DiDomenico, Ogletree’s director of knowledge management, will join the group. Formerly based in Morristown, N.J., the two will relocate to the New York office.
This is the 41st office for Ogletree, which has more than 600 attorneys nationwide. Cerasia said he is in discussions with lawyers at other law firms to join the office. He said he aims to have 18 to 20 lawyers in the office by the end of the year.
