Thirty-five years after a Long Island man was convicted of murdering a 14-year-old girl, a Brooklyn appellate panel has given the go-ahead for additional DNA testing that he hopes will contribute to his exoneration.

Overruling a Long Island judge, a unanimous panel of the Appellate Division, Second Department, has ruled that Keith Bush can examine seven previously untested fingernail scrapings from Sherese Watson, whom Mr. Bush was convicted of killing in 1976.
