More than 175 protesters were arrested yesterday as ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protesters took to the streets in what organizers called a ‘Day of Action.’ Here, protesters clash with police inside Zuccotti Park yesterday afternoon.

David Bookstaver, a spokesman for the Office of Court Administration, said yesterday that the courts have been monitoring the number of arrests to know when to be ready for the influx of arraignments. He said contingency plans are in place and there is “a strong likelihood” an additional part will be opened today to cope with the extra arraignments. “We will be prepared to deal with these cases,” said Mr. Bookstaver.
