A mother neglected her daughter when she rushed off a subway train and left the sleeping 11-year-old behind, a panel of the Appellate Division, First Department, ruled yesterday in the 4-1 decision, In re Sasha B., 2418.
The unsigned majority opinion found that the mother’s claim that she had “inadvertent[ly]” left the child on the train was “ undermined by the fact that she made no attempt to seek assistance” when she discovered her error.
