The prosecution and defense presented forceful and compelling closing arguments yesterday, capping the seven-day trial of Surrogate-elect Nora S. Anderson and co-defendant Seth Rubenstein on charges they masked the source of $250,000 pumped into Ms. Anderson’s victorious 2008 primary race.
Prosecutor Daniel G. Cort told the jury that the defendants’ acts “speak for themselves” and it would take “an olympic leap of mental gymnastics to find no criminal purpose.”
