Danaher Corp. will purchase businesses from two medical-technology companies in a deal valued at $1.1 billion. In the two-part deal, Danaher will acquire a 50 percent stake in AB Sciex and a full ownership of Molecular Devices from MDS, a pharmaceutical research company. Danaher will buy the other 50 percent of AB Sciex from Life Technologies, a biotech firm. Also, The Blackstone Group and The British Land Company have announced a $1.7 billion joint venture in which Blackstone Group Land will acquire 50 percent of Broadgate, a premier office complex in London.
