Claims by a group of police officers who blamed New York City for the hearing loss they allegedly suffered as a result of exposure to gunfire during firearms training have been thrown out by an appellate court.

Last year, a Bronx judge gave Eugene Miniero and seven other officers the green light to bring negligence actions against the city and the Mine Safety Appliances Company for purportedly providing them with defective “Noisefoe Mark IV” ear muffs on Rodman’s Neck Firing Range in the Bronx.
