Southern District U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has made several appointments to his executive staff. He announced yesterday that Boyd M. Johnson III will be deputy U.S. attorney. Mr. Johnson, who has been with the office for 10 years, moves into his new position after serving as chief of the International Narcotics Trafficking Unit and then chief of the Public Corruption Unit.

Raymond J. Lohier Jr. was promoted from deputy chief of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force to chief. He assumes the position vacated by William F. Johnson, who left last month to join Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. A nine-year veteran of the office, Mr. Lohier has also served as chief and deputy chief of the Narcotics Unit.
