Roughly six of every 10 voters who will pull the lever in the Sept. 15 Democratic primary will be women, who as a group historically tend to favor candidates of their own gender, political analysts say.

That means in the race to become the first new district attorney in Manhattan in 35 years, Leslie Crocker Snyder would have a clear advantage over her two rivals, Richard M. Aborn and Cyrus R. Vance Jr.
