A land dispute dating back to the 1970s, or by another measure to the 1690s, has perhaps come to an end.

The fight involved approximately 125 acres of vacant land “discovered” in a survey commissioned by the Town of Huntington in the early 1970s. The property had been unimproved since colonial times. The town has used the property as public parkland since 1972, when it was officially dedicated as Pineridge Park.
