A state judge has fixed damages at $250,000 for the 2.6 years a woman spent in prison after she was linked to a quadruple murder with the help of fingerprint evidence planted by a state trooper during an evidence-tampering scandal two decades ago.

Shirley Kinge is entitled to the award for the “emotional suffering and mental anguish” she suffered during her trial and incarceration, as well as her “loss of privacy and deprivation of liberty,” Court of Claims Judge Nicholas V. Midey Jr. (See Proile) ruled.
