A Brooklyn judge has rejected a request by federal prosecutors that Nicholas Corozzo, a captain in the Gambino crime family who was sentenced last week to 13 1/2 years in prison for ordering a murder, be barred from interacting with "relatives who were or are criminals" and "members or associates of organized crime families." In a philosophical and discursive nine-page decision, Eastern District Judge Jack B. Weinstein said that the historical significance of the site of the Brooklyn federal courthouse serves as a reminder of the important American ideals evoked by the government's motion.
