Lawyers for President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday insisted that their client’s Manhattan criminal case must be immediately dismissed in the interests of justice and to facilitate Trump’s transition back to the White House.
In a strongly worded, two-page letter to acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, Trump’s defense requested a stay of all proceedings and permission to file a motion to dismiss the case by Dec. 20.
