Like surely many other New York Law Journal readers, I thoroughly enjoyed the memories that Joseph Zayas, the court system’s chief administrative judge; and Alan Scheinkman, a retired presiding justice for the Appellate Division, Second Department, have shared in these pages about “their” judge—i.e. the judge for whom they clerked at the outset of their careers.

As anyone who has served as a law clerk knows, the bond between law clerk and Judge extends beyond the clerkship, as the professional and personal lessons learned during the clerkship prove invaluable throughout the former clerk’s career.
