My judicial colleagues and I have confronted many challenges through, and beyond, the COVID-19 pandemic. We have embraced new technology more than ever before and expanded virtual options for court appearances, to be carefully balanced with the continued need for in-person appearances and trials. Together, we continue to promote meaningful access to justice for all litigants throughout the state.

We look forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2024, beginning with our annual luncheon at the Midtown NYC Hilton on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will be presenting Hon. James P. Murphy, DCAJ for all courts outside New York City as our Distinguished Jurist and Hon. Deborah H. Karalunas, 5th District Administrative Judge as our Advancement of Diversity Award recipient. Our Keynote Speaker is Hon. Rolando Acosta, retired Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, First Department. Judge Acosta will speak to us about “judicial independence” within our constitutional system. This is an issue of great concern in this current climate and we look forward to Judge Acosta’s remarks.
