As chair of the General Practice Section, I am pleased to invite you to the New York State Bar Association’s General Practice Section Annual Meeting, which is set to take place on Jan. 17, 2024, at the New York Hilton Midtown. The event is thankfully in person. The agenda for the day is packed with exciting sessions and discussions, covering a wide range of topics relevant to the legal profession.

The first session of the day will be the Hot Topics session, which will cover three topics, the first of which is Reporting of Sales Tax for Transactional Sales. Jennifer L. Koo, Esq., from Sales Tax Defense LLC will lead the discussion on this topic. Following this will be a presentation on changes to the Criminal Law Disclosure Requirements by Hon. Biju J. Koshy from the New York City Criminal Court, Richmond County. Next, Michael A. Markowitz, Esq., will discuss the Use of Artificial Intelligence or AI to Prepare Discovery Demands. This segment is geared toward those (like me) who have never used AI. Michael will have the audience participate and promises to show us how AI will make our lives as lawyers significantly easier in a fun and entertaining way.
