The country’s second-largest title insurance company will pay New York $1 million for cybersecurity violations related to a large-scale breach in 2019 that contributed to the exposure of consumers’ nonpublic information, the state’s financial services watchdog said Tuesday.

First American Title Insurance Co. collects the personal and financial data of hundreds of thousands of individuals each year on title-related documents, storing the information in its proprietary EaglePro application, according to a statement by the New York Department of Financial Services.
