Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison took the witness stand just before lunchtime Tuesday in the trial of her former boyfriend and FTX and Alameda founder Sam Bankman-Fried, testifying that she committed crimes with Bankman-Fried at his direction.

Ellison, who has pleaded guilty to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to commit wire, securities and commodities fraud, said the crypto hedge fund Alameda took “several billion dollars” of FTX customers’ funds and used it for investments and the repayment of debt.
