New York Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson on Friday tapped Appellate Division, First Department Justice Anil C. Singh to serve on the state’s 11-member judicial watchdog panel, making him the first Asian American to serve on the commission.

“Justice Singh is a pillar of New York’s legal community,” Wilson said of his appointment of the Gazipur, India-born Singh to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, which reviews complaints of ethical misconduct against judges and justices of the state’s Unified Court System.
