In a win for plaintiffs suing over talcum powder, a New York judge denied a request to disclose the names of 33 cancer victims in a 2019 research article used in mesothelioma cases across the country, but the fight over the plaintiffs’ expert and author of that report is far from over.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Valerie Figueredo concluded there was no “relevant hook” between the individuals in Dr. Jacqueline Moline’s article and the case against plaintiff Brian Gref, 40, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2019.
