A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Monday rejected Elon Musk’s effort to tweet about his electric car company, Tesla, without Tesla attorneys’ supervision, leaving intact a consent decree with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

In a summary order, Chief Circuit Judge Debra Ann Livingston and Circuit Judges Reena Raggi and Maria Araújo Kahn ruled that U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman of the Southern District of New York did not abuse his discretion when he denied Musk’s request to modify the consent decree.
