Joseph Satterley repeatedly pleaded with a bankruptcy judge to allow one of his cases to go to trial against Johnson & Johnson over its baby powder. His client was diagnosed with mesothelioma in early 2022, but the Chapter 11 case of Johnson & Johnson subsidiary LTL Management prevented him from filing suit, conducting discovery or going to trial.
Twenty months later, Satterley, of Kazan, McClain, Satterley & Greenwood in Oakland, California, appeared once more in a Trenton, New Jersey courtroom to convince U.S. Chief Bankruptcy Judge Michael Kaplan to lift the bankruptcy stay for his client, Anthony Hernandez Valadez, 24.
