The New York State Bar Association presented the Shira A. Scheindlin Award for Excellence in the Courtroom to Lauren Wachtler of Barclay Damon, who previously served as and former chair of the State Bar’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section; and former State Bar president Bernice Leber of ArentFox Schiff.
Scheindlin awards are presented to litigators who have distinguished themselves in New York courtrooms and who have committed to mentoring young women attorneys. It is presented each year in November to time it near the date in 1917 when women won the right to vote.
