Prof. Bennett L. Gershman has devoted his career to the ideal of equal justice for all. His body of work and accomplishments are revolutionary. Yet he is humble and unpretentious. When asked to name his greatest accomplishment, he replied, “I was able to retain my integrity.”

Most of Professor Gershman’s work focuses on the role of prosecutors, who possess enormous power to protect the public interest but also to destroy people’s careers, reputations and liberty. Gershman is a former prosecutor himself, having worked first at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and then with the New York State Anti-Corruption Office.
