What are some of the department’s most satisfying successes of the past year and why? This year, we have obtained rulings that have protected our clients’ business needs, which is always one of our main goals of litigation. In multiple instances, we protected our clients’ ability to arbitrate claims on the terms on which they have contracted with their employees. We also always strive to litigate cases as quickly and efficiently as possible and have successfully done that this year as well, including by winning a motion to dismiss on a novel legal issue that arose during the pandemic. Finally, we are also proud of our cross-practice matters. We work seamlessly with other practice groups at Jones Day, and this year, had particular success working with our second-to-none issues and appeals practice in winning several high-stakes appeals on matters critical to our clients’ business operations.
