Former New York Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin’s lead defense attorney argued that the bribery and fraud charges filed against Benjamin are likely to have a “chilling effect” on normal political activity unless the trial court grants his motion to dismiss.
Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel partner Barry Berke made that point in oral arguments Wednesday before U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken of the Southern District of New York.
