An 87-year-old lawyer who represented Donald Trump in past real estate transactions, as well as a Proud Boys member and an alleged stalker of former President Trump, has had his law license suspended pending further possible disciplinary action because he “failed to properly manage his escrow account for decades,” according to a New York appeals court.

John N. Iannuzzi, who’s been practicing law for about 60 years, according to Tuesday’s decision, had argued to the state appellate court that “he does not pose a threat to the public interest because he simply misunderstood how to properly manage his escrow account and his use of one client’s money to pay another client and his advance of legal fees [from his separate escrow into his operating account] were ‘isolated situations’ due to his ignorance,” according to the decision from the Manhattan-based Appellate Division, First Department court.
