A Manhattan federal judge has rejected a Long Island man’s application to serve as class representative in a false advertising suit against Peloton Interactive Inc., after finding that he had impersonated a lawyer in the months leading up to the litigation.

U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman of the Southern District of New York said Wednesday that the man, Eric Fishon, later gave misleading deposition testimony about his actions, which the judge characterized as “evasive at best” and “perjurious at worst.”
