One of the first sessions of the New York State Bar Association’s 2022 Annual Meeting focused, fittingly, on the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Health Law Section inviting two attorneys and a doctor to discuss ethical issues raised by the pandemic.

Laura M. Alfredo, senior vice president and general counsel of the Greater New York Hospital Association, moderated the discussion Tuesday morning. She asked Weill-Cornell Medical College Division of Medical Ethics chief Joseph J. Fins and Kapil Longani, who was counsel to the mayor during the later years of former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s leadership, about vaccine mandates and other issues.
