Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday announced that they have reached a $71 million settlement agreement with 79 women who have reported they were abused by former Columbia University obstetrician Robert Hadden, resolving some but not all of the claims brought against the former doctor.

Hadden’s trial on federal criminal charges is currently scheduled for March, and a federal class action lawsuit is ongoing. Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York have said their case relates to allegations against Hadden by girls and women from 1993 to 2012. Hadden has pleaded not guilty.
